Electrical Engineering Consultant
Description
Electrical Engineer / Designer
An established Ohio-based mechanical and electrical consulting engineering firm, with offices in North Royalton and Columbus and a history dating back to 1993, is seeking a talented and experienced full-time Electrical Engineer or Electrical Designer. This position is key to supporting our continued growth and expansion.
The role will initially be titled "Electrical Engineer/Designer" with strong potential for career progression into a "Project Manager" or "Project Engineer" over time.
Key Responsibilities
As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Executing electrical design for a diverse range of project types, including commercial, office, retail, healthcare, and others.
- Applying design expertise in areas like power distribution, grounding, lighting, control systems, and equipment selection and specification.
- Preparing schematics for various electrical systems.
- Collaborating with all disciplines (mechanical, structural, civil, etc.) to ensure a completed, fully coordinated design and reviewing the work of other team members.
- Conducting on-site investigations to accurately confirm existing conditions.
- Developing and maintaining familiarity with current electrical codes and standards.
- Building professional relationships with same-level personnel from other disciplines and manufacturing sales representatives.
- Preparing and becoming familiar with both general and electrical specifications.
Desired Skills & Abilities
We are looking for a candidate with at least 3 years of relevant experience who possesses the following:
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate in a team environment.
- Familiarity with system-specific materials, components, and electrical systems.
- Basic understanding of high-level mathematics as it applies to electrical design work.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical ability to effectively solve complex problems.
- Working proficiency/knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Working proficiency/knowledge of REVIT is desired, but not required.
