Description

Overview
Our client, a well-established and forward-thinking electrical engineering firm, is seeking a talented Electrical Designer/Drafter to join their Calabasas team. This role is ideal for a self-driven, detail-oriented professional with hands-on experience in electrical design and drafting who enjoys working across diverse project types - including K-12, higher education, mixed-use developments, commercial buildings, and tenant improvement projects.
The Electrical Designer/Drafter will play a key role in the design and coordination of lighting, power, and low-voltage systems, working closely with senior engineers and project leaders from concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop lighting, power, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems under the guidance of a Principal or Senior Engineer.
- Perform advanced CAD/BIM/Revit drafting and assist with project engineering tasks to support electrical design deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with internal project teams, architects, and other disciplines to ensure accurate and coordinated designs.
- Participate in occasional client meetings or communications as directed by senior leadership.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations as required for design validation and project coordination (travel expenses reimbursed).
- Assist with project documentation, load calculations, and Title 24 compliance studies.
- Support the preparation of construction drawings, technical specifications, and as-built documentation.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on electrical design and drafting experience in the AEC industry.
- Proficiency in:
- Revit 2025, AutoCAD 2025, BIM360
- SKM Power Tools (short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies)
- EnergyPro 9/10 (Title 24 compliance)
