IT Project Manager Normal, IL (100% on-site) Duration: 5 months Schedule: M- F (up to every other weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday), but still no more than 40 hrs/week) Pay: $65-71/hr Role Overview We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager to lead enterprise infrastructure initiatives from planning through execution and closeout. This role requires strong collaboration with IT and non-IT stakeholders, subject matter experts, and vendors to ensure projects meet critical milestones, budget, and scope while maintaining high standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects implementing and refreshing enterprise IT infrastructure solutions, including network services (multi-site connectivity, data centers, WiFi, DHCP, DNS) and server/data/backup solutions (NAS, backup, DR, Active Directory, server OS upgrades, server patching).
- Partner with General Contractors during construction-related IT implementations.
- Collaborate with IT Infrastructure Program Managers, SMEs, non-IT teams, and vendors to create project plans, track progress, and drive tasks to critical milestones.
- Capture and communicate requirements accurately across IT and non-IT teams.
- Adjust project plans as needed to align with business and vendor priorities, ensuring clear communication to stakeholders.
- Identify, document, and mitigate risks and issues, proposing practical solutions without compromising standards.
- Provide timely updates to stakeholders, sponsors, and the IT Infrastructure PMO using predefined KPIs.
- Ensure smooth handoff to infrastructure operations teams at project closeout.
- Manage budgets in collaboration with program managers and stakeholders.
- Maintain high-level project status updates weekly, documenting progress, risks, and next steps.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing complex cross-functional IT infrastructure projects and programs.
- Expertise in enterprise network solutions, including multi-site connectivity, WiFi, DHCP, DNS, and structured cabling systems.
- Experience with enterprise server, data, and backup solutions (NAS, Backup, DR, Active Directory, server OS upgrades, server patching).
- Strong collaboration with General Contractors for construction-related IT implementations.
- Clear, concise communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders; ability to create documentation and align teams on scope, schedule, and budget.
- Self-awareness to escalate issues and collaborate with SMEs or leadership when additional resources or expertise are needed.
- Strong technical foundation across IT infrastructure, with the ability to translate complex technology for non-technical audiences.
