What you will be doing:In your role as a Service Technician, you will be essential to the success of Staples Supply Chain as we provide professional and knowledgeable technical support to our customers. You will service and maintain business equipment such as warewash equipment, dish machines, floor care and carpet care equipment. You will have direct contact and communication with customers, providing them with technical information and support. Your responsibilities will also include testing new equipment, detecting malfunctions, repairing machines, keeping records of service calls and parts used, maintaining inventory, and completing necessary paperwork for billing manufacturers for services provided as well as warranty work. You will also help determine service call and installation priorities.
- Service and maintain business equipment such as: warewash equipment, dish machines, floor care and carpet care equipment.
- Direct contact and communication with customers
- Responsible for communication with customers on technical information
- Continually seek new methods and techniques for repairing and installing equipment
- Test new equipment and ensure functionality
- Detect malfunctions and repair machines immediately
- Keep records and document service calls and parts used
- Maintain inventory
- Complete the necessary paperwork for billing manufacturers for services provided as well as warranty work
- Help determine service call and installation priorities
What You Bring To the Table
- Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and efficiently maintain the proper functionality of equipment
- Sound understanding of technical aspects of the equipment, including the ability to detect malfunctions
- Ability to know and understand warranty processes
- Ability to maintain a clean driver's license and drive safely and courteously in all kinds of weather and road conditions
- An ability and willingness to maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, including performing pre-trip vehicle inspections and reporting any maintenance concerns

What's needed: Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma and/or Certificate from a Vocational / Technical school
- 1+ years of mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting experience
- Computer literate with basic knowledge of networking
- Electronic & mechanical experience/aptitude
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic plumbing skills
- Basic electronic circuits testing skills
