Platform Engineer
Optomi in partner with a leader in consulting and professional services is looking for a Platform Engineer to Handle day-to-day activities of the Azure and Databricks platforms. This candidate will be the lead engineer overseeing both onshore and offshore team members.
Experience of the Right Candidate
- 6-8+ years experience (ideally 8) Platform engineering (Azure + Databricks).
- Terraform - mandatory, strong hands-on experience.
- Proven experience in DevOps and Platform Administration in cloud environments, specifically Azure.
- Expertise with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps (primary), GitHub Actions (secondary, more of a nice to have)).
- Experience building Kubernetes environments from scratch.
- Experience in Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Airflow, Data Lake and related data engineering tools.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and container orchestration.
- IAM management (Azure AD, group management).
- VM management.
- Experience working as a Lead Engineer / Team Lead.
- Experience with Key Vault for secure secrets management and key handling.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Understanding of networking and security best practices in cloud environments.
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate
- Handle day-to-day activities of the Azure and Databricks platforms.
- Lead engineer overseeing both onshore and offshore team members.
- Manage IAM, AD groups, VM management, and platform operations.
- Maintain and potentially expand existing platform environments.
- CI/CD pipeline work (Azure DevOps primarily).
- Work onsite in St. Louis 4 days a week.
- Potentially help with Dynatrace implementation.
