Role Purpose Statement
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Equipment & Assembly Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for overseeing dishroom and assembly operations, ensuring optimal equipment utilization, maintaining sanitation standards, and delivering high-quality products to our customers. The ideal candidate will actively engage employees in safety, compliance, and performance initiatives while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Main Accountabilities
Operational Oversight
- Manage daily operations for the Miami 145 dishroom and provide support to the Assembly department as needed.
- Develop and execute daily production schedules, monitor output, and ensure adherence to timelines.
- Oversee equipment functionality, preventive maintenance, and proper usage to minimize downtime and maintain compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor sanitation practices to ensure a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in accordance with FDA, USDA, OSHA, HACCP, and GMP regulations.
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 45+ employees per shift, ensuring proper staffing and productivity.
- Conduct daily team meetings to communicate goals, safety updates, and performance expectations.
- Schedule and manage labor resources to achieve productivity targets and control overtime costs.
- Document and review operational processes to identify and implement improvements.
- Guarantee on-time and accurate production and/or catering for all flights.
- Enforce safety protocols and lead initiatives to reduce workplace hazards.
Leadership
- Motivate, coach, and develop team members within company policies and values.
- Drive productivity and cost efficiency; implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Champion company initiatives such as Quality Assurance, HACCP compliance, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety, and continuous improvement programs.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience in production, operations, or related field.
- Experience in airline catering, dishroom operations, and manufacturing production preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to varying temperatures and conditions.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence and engage teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows-based applications.
- Flexible schedule availability, including morning, mid, and evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to walk the production floor for extended periods and manage multiple priorities.
