Legal Researcher
Description
Our client, a highly regarded law firm, is seeking a Legal Researcher.
Please Note the Shifts For This Role
Tuesday 9: 30 am - 5:30 pm (in office)
Wednesday 11: 30 am - 7:30 pm (in office)
Thursday 9: 30 am - 5:30 pm (in office)
Friday 9: 30 am- 5:30 pm (in office)
Saturday 9: 30 am - 5:30 pm (remote)
(off on Sunday and Monday)
Key Responsibilities
- Handle legislative, regulatory, market, and statistical research requests
- Provide data for internal publications, training materials, seminars, and client-facing content
- Conduct SEC-related research, including current and historical filings, precedent language, and agreement review
- Perform corporate and transactional research on companies, individuals, governance matters, and deal activity
- Support litigation research by locating dockets, pleadings, filings, and case materials
- Manage alerts and monitoring for filings, news, dockets, and other updates
- Coordinate with third-party research vendors to ensure quality and confidentiality
- Assist with onboarding and training for new attorneys and paralegals
- Evaluate research tools and resources and recommend improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's in Library Science is a plus
- 6+ years of research experience in a large law firm or financial services environment
- Strong database research skills (e.g., Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg, PACER, Capital IQ, FactSet, Intelligize, Refinitiv, and similar tools)
- Advanced proficiency with Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple requests under tight deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication and a strong client-service mindset
- Must be open to working the defined shift as scheduled
The annual base salary range is $110,000 to $140,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from the posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other factors. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
