The Central Region of Hartford Healthcare is hiring a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their critical care team! This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work across both campuses at both MidState Medical Center and The Hospital of Central Connecticut critical care services. As an APP, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive and specialized care to a diverse, critically ill patient population of complex medical and surgical patients. Duties include admissions, discharges, rounding, and procedures such as central lines, arterial lines, and chest tubes.
We provide a robust and comprehensive orientation and supervision for procedures, making this an excellent opportunity for new graduates looking for one-on-one mentorship.

Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners Role Scope: Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.
In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.
Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.
