Department/Unit Summary Join our team in a 16-bed Women's Services Unit featuring a Level 2 nursery and 9 LDR (Labor, Delivery, Recovery) rooms, 2 antepartum and 5 postpartum, located on the 2nd floor. With an average of 70 deliveries per month, our unit provides comprehensive care for expectant mothers and newborns. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment dedicated to promoting a positive birthing experience and ensuring the health and well-being of mothers and infants alike.
How you'll contributeThis position oversees all clinical and administrative operations within the Labor & Delivery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to ensure exceptional patient care and alignment with organizational goals. This role develops and implements departmental objectives that meet clinical, regulatory, and ethical standards while promoting evidence-based practices in maternal and neonatal care. Responsibilities include managing patient care delivery, staffing, budgeting, and quality improvement initiatives; ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA; and fostering a supportive, growth-oriented environment for staff. The director leads hiring, training, evaluation, and performance management processes while coordinating audits and maintaining fiscal accountability. This position ensures consistent, high-quality care for mothers and infants and effective collaboration among staff, physicians, patients, and external partners.

Qualifications and requirements Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.- Must have at least 5 years' experience in nursing with at least 3 years as a Director/Manager of L&D or NICU. - BLS- PALS and NRP are required within six months of hire.
