Nurse Practitioner, Inpatient Pain Team
Description
Position Summary/ Department Summary: Nurse Practitioner, Inpatient Pain Team
Key Responsibilities
- Providing care to infants, children, adolescents, young adults with pain from acute and chronic illnesses or those weaning sedatives after a recent critical illness in the inpatient setting.
- Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to conduct patient assessments, medical histories, physical exams and develop a plan of care based on the source of pain and patient needs.
- Facilitating collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team and other consulting services to provide comprehensive care for optimal patient outcomes.
- Participating in quality and safety initiatives and research.
- Providing consultation and education to staff members, patients and families as needed on pertinent topics
- 40 hours per week, less than 50% day/night rotation, 12 hour shifts, with every 4th weekend
Minimum QualificationsEducation
- A Master's Degree in Nursing
Experience
- 3-5 years' experience in a pediatric setting, ideally with a pediatric intensive care background
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills are required
Licensure/ Certifications
- A current MA NP license
- BLS and PALS certification

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
