Mission
Advancing brain health. Transforming lives.
Every day, we go to work to develop new and improved treatments that make a difference for people living with brain disorders. For decades, hard work and commitment have taken us far, but there is still a long way to go.
It's estimated that brain disorders directly affect half of the world's population. At Lundbeck, we take a holistic view of brain health, and believe it needs to be promoted and prioritized. Within brain disorders, we focus our efforts on neurology and psychiatry. Neurological disorders alone are a leading cause of disability, and the second-leading cause of death globally (accounting for 9 million deaths per year). In addition, the prevalence of mental health disorders is currently estimated at 970 million people causing 1 in 5 years lived with disability globally. Despite our knowledge about the brain, our strong heritage in the treatment of psychiatric and neurological disorders, and our engagement with those with lived experience, we recognize that significant challenges in brain health still remain.
