(Senior) Manager, Data Program & Project Management
- Overview
A strategic and technically fluent expert individual contributor responsible for managing complex, cross-functional programs in a data-driven organization. Manages the strategic planning and the tactical execution in the design and delivery of project and program management policies and practices. Applies project management skills, tools, and techniques to manage the project and program scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, and risk. Serves as primary contact for client and team queries and concerns.
This role is pivotal in orchestrating the successful delivery of enterprise-scale data platform initiatives, data governance frameworks, and the modernization of analytics capabilities. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in program management, data engineering environments, and change leadership across business and technology domains.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership in Data & Analytics:
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale data platform initiatives, including cloud data lake/data warehouse implementations, metadata management, and data governance programs.
- Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Translate enterprise data strategy into actionable program roadmaps. Align cross-functional teams (Data Engineering, BI, Governance, Security, and Business Units) to deliver integrated outcomes.
- Risk & Dependency Management:
- Identify and manage risks related to data migration, platform integration, and organizational readiness. Proactively resolve cross-team dependencies and bottlenecks.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Define KPIs and success metrics for data programs. Deliver executive-level reporting on progress, risks, and value realization.
- Mentorship & Capability Building:
- Coach junior project managers and analysts in agile delivery, stakeholder management, and data-centric program execution.
- Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing enterprise-scale data platform or analytics transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of data engineering, data architecture, and modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tools.
- Expertise in agile and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in matrixed environments.
- Ability to translate between technical and business audiences.
