City Year is a nationally recognized AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students and schools succeed while developing the next generation of civic leaders. Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, City Year deploys diverse teams of AmeriCorps members to provide comprehensive support to students, classrooms, and entire school communities across 29 U.S. communities, with additional international affiliates in the U.K. and South Africa.

City Year's measurable impact demonstrates real, transformative change in education outcomes. Schools partnering with City Year are up to two to three times more likely to improve in English and math assessments. The organization focuses on systemically under-resourced schools, where AmeriCorps members serve as tutors, mentors, and role models, creating positive relationships and personalized learning environments that encourage students to persevere through challenges and build on their strengths.

Mission Driven Work Environment

As a City Year AmeriCorps member, you'll work in diverse, supportive teams collaborating with teachers, school staff, and community partners. Your role encompasses:

• Student Coaching & Mentoring: Provide one-on-one and small group academic support, developing literacy and math skills while fostering positive behaviors
• Data-Informed Practice: Collect, analyze, and monitor individual student progress using City Year's student data system
• Whole-School Initiatives: Support extended day programming, enrichment activities, and community-building events
• Professional Growth: Receive 2-4 weeks of comprehensive training at program start with ongoing professional development and mentorship
