      Maintenance Manager

      Food Manufacturing

      Location: Carlstadt, NJ

      Comp: $130,000 - $150,000 + Bonus

Are you a Maintenance Manager who’s sick of the firefighting and wants the chance to build something properly, for once?

This isn’t about keeping the lights on. It’s about stepping into a food processing site that’s stable, growing, and now looking to seriously level up its maintenance operation.

You’ll be given the tools, the autonomy, and the backing to get it right. From long-overdue upgrades to the systems and standards you’ve been dying to implement.

      The context

The New Jersey facility has been a workhorse for years. Around 100 people on site, supplying to a mix of national foodservice and retail customers.

This is a leadership role with teeth. You’ll lead the entire maintenance function, reporting directly into senior leadership, with a clear mandate: drive uptime, modernize systems, and develop your team.

      You’ll own:

      • Maintenance strategy across all equipment, plant utilities, and infrastructure
      • Preventative and predictive maintenance programs (and finally get out of reactive mode)
      • Developing a high-performing team (you’ll inherit 6 indirects under a Maintenance Supervisor)
      • CMMS improvements, budget management, safety compliance, and lean-based efficiency initiatives

You’ll also have the credibility and influence to recommend equipment upgrades, spearhead capital projects, and contribute to broader operational planning. There’s real appetite for change here, especially from the top.

      Who you are:

      • An experienced Maintenance Manager (5+ years in food or beverage manufacturing)
      • Comfortable juggling production support, engineering standards, and team development
      • Strong on planning, scheduling, and using CMMS tools to manage maintenance performance
      • Genuinely motivated to take a “good” site and make it great
      • Ideally have a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering - but experience wins here

You’ll be working in a company where red tape is minimal, egos are parked, and what matters is delivery, not PowerPoint. The leadership team has seen the corporate world. Now they’re building a leaner, more human business where decisions are fast and ideas are welcomed.
