Description
Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world’s best private schools, where students from disadvantaged backgrounds are provided both a home and a school where they can thrive. Thanks to the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey, MHS is fully endowed with the resources to ensure every student has opportunities and resources to succeed. The school has prepared almost 12,000 graduates and is expanding to serve more students.
MHS is seeking a psychologist (school or clinical) or a psychotherapist to join a dedicated team providing high-quality care to support 2,000 plus students from low-income families. These are on-site opportunities, in beautiful Hershey, PA.
MHS’s psychological services team members provide direct and indirect psychological services to assigned students and are responsible for decision-making regarding students’ safety and mental health which include assessing psychopathology; assessing risks and incidents, advocacy, determining the services to be delivered; developing and implementing treatment plans, and monitoring progress. The team shares an on-call rotation to ensure students are provided psychological services on a year-round, round the clock basis. Psychological services team members also provide leadership, education, and recommendations to staff and parent/sponsors. They also collaborate with other health professionals including psychiatrists, pediatricians, and social workers to coordinate care and ensure holistic treatment.
MHS offers competitive compensation with excellent benefits (medical, vision & dental insurance, a 403b savings plan with employer contribution, paid time off, wellness benefits and free lunches). This is a bargaining unit position with Milton Hershey Education Association (MHEA).
