Legal Specialist Employment Enterprise
Description
Legalpeople is working with it's Dallas based client to find a Legal Specialist on a full-time contract to perm basis responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing a variety of critical projects and programs within our in-house legal team. This role is pivotal in driving initiatives focused on employment law and compliance, employment litigation, ensuring the company adheres to legal and regulatory requirements while fostering operational excellence. You will develop comprehensive project plans, manage timelines, coordinate with cross-functional teams (including Legal, People & Culture, and Trust & Compliance), and implement innovative solutions to enhance our legal operations. The successful candidate will lead the successful delivery of key legal projects from conceptualization through to completion, ensuring they align with strategic objectives and mitigate risk.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of projects related to the development, implementation, and enhancement of employment law and compliance programs. This includes areas such as EEO, affirmative action planning (AAP), employment-related agreements, litigation, audits, debarment and sanctions screening, and internal policy updates.
- Develop and execute detailed project plans for key legal initiatives, clearly defining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of compliance processes, tools, and systems, working closely with the Trust & Compliance team and other internal stakeholders.
- Drive the project management aspects of regulatory filings and reporting obligations (e.g., EEO-1, AAP, CA Pay Reporting, Vets 4212), ensuring timely and accurate submissions through effective process design and management.
- Collaborate extensively with Legal, People & Culture, Trust & Compliance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of legal projects and programs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of experience in program/project management or as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant at a law firm or in-house legal department, with a focus on legal, compliance, or HR-related projects.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferably within the technology sector.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, and proficiency with project management methodologies and tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a corporate legal department or law firm with a focus on employment law and compliance program management.
- Experience with US and/or Canada employment law and compliance issues.
- Experience in healthtech, healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries.
- Ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment.
