Job Description
We are in need of a Media and Corporate Communications Specialist to work with a small team on all public facing corporate publications, media announcements, and the corporation's website. This is a direct hire, full time opportunity in Evanston, Illinois.
This position is onsite Monday - Friday with core business hours of 8:30am-4:30pm.
Due to the specific legal and contractual requirements associated with this position, only US Citizens and Green Card Holders/Permanent residents will be considered for this role.
Our client is a well-respected and nationally recognized not-for-profit corporation that conducts scholarship programs. Since the corporation's establishment in 1955, more than $1.9 billion has been granted for college undergraduate scholarships for approximately 491,000 students. Headquartered on Chicago's North Shore, the corporation currently employs 35 full-time employees.
Our client is seeking a hard-working professional individual who will report directly to the Director of Public Information. As part of a very small team that handles all public facing corporate publications, media announcements, and the corporation's website, this individual will be expected to be comfortable communicating with a variety of individuals, both internally and externally, from administrators to officers. This individual will be responsible for interacting with a variety of external publics, including high school and college/university officials, students, parents, vendors, and the general news media. This individual must have an energetic personality, positive attitude, strong work ethic, solid communication skills (both oral and written), and be self-motivated, well-organized, and work well both independently and with others in teams. The ideal candidate should have at least three years of practical related work experience.
