We are seeking a **Geotechnical Engineer** to join our team. This position is a strong fit for an engineer who enjoys a combination of fieldwork, technical problem-solving, construction involvement, and collaboration with project teams. ### What You’ll Do - Support geotechnical engineering projects from field exploration through design and construction. - Perform and document subsurface investigations, including drilling and test pit activities. - Collect, evaluate, and interpret field and laboratory data. - Assist with geotechnical analyses for foundations, slopes, seismic conditions, and other project needs. - Prepare technical documentation, calculations, and engineering reports. - Provide field support and observation during construction. - Collaborate with engineers, technicians, clients, contractors, and other project team members. - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited program - Minimum of two years of geotechnical engineering or related experience - Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or ability to obtain EIT certification within six months of hire - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work effectively with internal teams, clients, and project partners - Ability to adapt to changing field conditions and project requirements - Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions - Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a vehicle in varying weather conditions - Ability and willingness to travel as project needs require, including occasional overnight or extended travel of approximately one week - Travel is primarily within the greater Tri-Cities region, with occasional travel to other ALLWEST locations throughout Idaho, Montana, and Washington ### **Preferred Qualifications** - Engineering experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility - Experience performing subsurface field explorations, including drilling methods, test pit excavations, and geophysical methods - Experience installing or monitoring geotechnical instrumentation, including inclinometers and piezometers - Experience or education using geotechnical analysis software for field data reduction, slope stability, foundation design, seismic analysis, or related applications - Experience supporting or overseeing geotechnical aspects of construction projects ### **Why ALLWEST?** As an **employee-owned company**, ALLWEST gives eligible employees the opportunity to participate in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and share in the success of the company.
