This role will focus on financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and reporting to support business performance and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate has a strong background in financial analysis and accounting, advanced Excel skills, and hands-on experience building and automating financial models using Power Query. Experience writing SQL queries and working with data analytics tools is also important. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys solving complex problems, improving financial processes, and translating data into actionable business insights. **Salary:** $95,000–$115,000 per year **Job Type:** Full-Time | Direct Hire **Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM **Work Arrangement:** Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) **Location:** Houston, TX **Bonus:** 5% incentive bonus **Travel:** Not required ## Key Responsibilities - Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and actual-to-forecast variances. - Develop rolling forecasts and annual budgets across multiple business units and locations. - Analyze profit and loss (P&L) statements, revenue trends, gross margins, operating margins, and cost variances. - Build, automate, analyze, and troubleshoot financial models using Power Query and advanced Excel. - Develop financial reporting processes and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support management decisions. - Translate financial data into meaningful insights and recommendations for business leaders. - Support accurate revenue recognition using the percentage-of-completion (POC) method. - Identify and implement process improvements to increase reporting accuracy and efficiency. - Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and company policies. - Support special projects and other financial analysis initiatives as needed. ## Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a similar role. - Strong understanding of FP&A principles, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and accounting practices. - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling. - **Hands-on experience building and troubleshooting financial models and automated reporting processes using Power Query.** - Ability to write SQL queries and work with financial datasets. - Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP. - Experience analyzing P&L results and presenting financial insights. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. ## Preferred Qualifications - Experience with SQL, Snowflake, Sigma, Alteryx, Power BI, or Tableau. - Familiarity with Hyperion Financial Management and/or Oracle. - CMA, CPA, or MBA. - Experience supporting complex financial operations across multiple business units or locations. ## What We're Looking For We are looking for a proactive, analytical professional who can build financial models from the ground up, automate manual processes, and improve existing reporting systems.
