The Construction Safety Technician will provide field safety support for painting and coating crews while supporting AHAs, JHAs, pre-task planning, toolbox talks, inspections, and day-to-day safety compliance activities. The Safety Technician will work closely with the Lead Safety Manager, Project Manager, and Superintendent to help maintain a safe and compliant work environment throughout the project. --- **Required Qualifications** ✔ 4-Year Degree in Safety and/or BCSP Certification (CHST Minimum) ✔ Previous Nuclear Site Experience Required ✔ Experience Supporting Industrial Painting, Coatings, and Paint Removal Operations ✔ Knowledge of Needle Gunning Operations ✔ Experience with Swing-Stage Scaffolding and Elevated Work Activities ✔ Strong Understanding of Fall Protection Programs ✔ Experience with Respiratory Protection Programs ✔ Knowledge of Heat Stress Management and Noise Exposure Controls ✔ Ability to Lead and Support AHAs, JHAs, Toolbox Talks, and Pre-Task Planning ✔ Must Pass Required Background Check and Drug Screen ✔ Must Be Clean Shaven and Able to Wear a Respirator --- **Preferred Qualifications** ⭐ CSP, ASP, CHST, or Other BCSP Credential ⭐ Nuclear Outage Experience ⭐ Industrial Maintenance Experience ⭐ Coatings and Corrosion Control Experience ⭐ Scaffold Competent Person Training ⭐ Experience Supporting Utility or Power Generation Facilities --- **What You'll Be Doing** - Provide field safety oversight for paint removal, surface preparation, and painting/coating operations - Monitor work involving needle gunning, swing-stage scaffolding, elevated work, and fall protection systems - Support respiratory protection, heat stress, and noise exposure management programs - Lead and support AHAs, JHAs, pre-task planning, toolbox talks, and daily safety discussions - Identify hazards in the field and work with crews and supervision to develop corrective actions - Coordinate closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent on all safety-related matters - Serve as a liaison between craft employees and project leadership - Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments - Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, nuclear site requirements, and project safety standards - Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation - Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports - Maintain a strong field presence and build credibility with the workforce --- **Technical Knowledge** Candidates should have working knowledge of: - Industrial Coatings & Paint Removal Operations - Nuclear Facility Safety Requirements - OSHA Construction Standards - Swing-Stage Scaffold Operations - Fall Protection & Elevated Work - Respiratory Protection Programs - Heat Stress Monitoring & Prevention - Industrial Noise Exposure Controls - Needle Gunning and Surface Preparation Activities - Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) - Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) - Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions - Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation --- **What Success Looks Like** The ideal candidate is a **hands-on, field-focused safety professional** with experience supporting nuclear projects and industrial coating operations.
