Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience. **CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:** **Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire.** Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. **Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required**. ## Responsibilities for this Position We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to lead complex systems engineering efforts with a strong emphasis on **personal and environmental safety**. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, safety engineering knowledge, and a proven ability to deliver innovative, safety-compliant solutions in support of mission-critical defense programs. ### Key Responsibilities - Lead systems engineering activities with a focus on safety requirements, hazard analysis, and risk mitigation across the full system lifecycle - Develop and maintain **Safety Management Plans**, hazard analyses, and environmental impact assessments - Ensure compliance with **DoD safety standards and regulations** - Integrate personal and environmental safety requirements into system architectures and designs - Conduct and support **Safety Reviews**, including Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) and System Safety Working Groups (SSWG) - Collaborate with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) teams to ensure regulatory compliance - Mentor junior engineers on safety engineering best practices - Support proposals, design reviews, and customer interactions related to safety requirements ### Qualifications - **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field - **Experience:** 2+ years of relevant systems engineering experience, with demonstrated focus on safety engineering - **Clearance:** Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance preferred - **Candidate must be local to the area and able to work onsite in the Pittsfield, MA office. Some telecommuting is allowed up to 2 days a week depending on work requirements and client needs.** - Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation ### Skills - Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment - Environmental compliance and impact assessment - Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) - Requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama) - Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DoD safety regulations - Strong communication and leadership skills ## Salary Note This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
