## Description

**JOB TITLE:** Recess Coach

**DEPARTMENT**: Student Support

**REPORTS TO:** School Resource Manager

**FLSA STATUS:** Non-exempt

**QUALIFICATIONS**

- Born-again Christian and credible Christian role model whose godly lifestyle and character demonstrate obedience to God and the Holy Scriptures. Active member of an evangelical Trinitarian church.
- Accepts and supports the school’s statement of faith and indicates a continuing sense of God’s direction in working at Lighthouse Christian School.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Positive and patient attitude
- Clear and confident communication skills
- Demonstrate an attitude of support and encouragement
- Ability to perform job requirements (ie. standing for extended time)
- 1-2 years of experience with school aged children, preferred but not required

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

- Supervise students during the assigned recess
- Ability to analyze situations and adopt an effective and calm course of action
- Facilitates positive, productive interactions during recess including conflict-resolution
- Ability to properly administer first aid if necessary
- Maintain recess equipment
- Reports discipline issues to administration in a timely and clear manner
- Participate in meetings, devotions, professional learning community and Inservice as required
- Maintain consistent, punctual attendance

**WORK REQUIREMENTS**

- Part time, non-exempt position based upon the school year calendar
- Hourly wage as outlined in the annual at-will employment letter

Approximate Hours: 11:00-1:15 Monday-Friday, with occasional additional hours for meetings.
