You’ll work directly with manufactured products, using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment to make sure they meet customer requirements and our quality standards. During a typical day, you’ll: - Perform dimensional, physical, and visual inspections of manufactured products - Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges - Work with automated inspection equipment, including CMMs, laser flatness testing equipment, and surface perthometers - Conduct ultrasonic and dye penetrant inspections when required - Complete first article inspections before full-scale production - Review inspection results to determine whether products meet requirements - Accurately document inspection results and production data in SAP and related systems - Communicate inspection results clearly when something doesn’t meet specifications - Complete inspections on time to help keep production moving - Help move accepted products efficiently to the next work center - Follow established quality, safety, and environmental procedures **You Could Be a Great Fit If You:** We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working with measurements and technical information, and willing to continue developing their quality skills. You could be a strong fit if you: - Have a high school diploma or equivalent - Have working knowledge of **GD&T** - Can interpret inspection data and explain results clearly - Are comfortable using precision measuring equipment - Pay close attention to details - Can follow technical specifications and established procedures - Communicate effectively with production and quality team members - Take safety and product quality seriously - Can use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Are willing to learn new inspection methods and equipment **Previous manufacturing or machining experience is preferred.** If you’ve worked in machining, manufacturing, quality, inspection, or another precision-focused environment, you may already have skills that translate well to this role. **Additional Tools in Your Toolbox** Experience with any of these can help you succeed: - Micrometers, calipers, and gauges - Coordinate Measuring Machines (**CMMs**) - GD&T - First article inspection - Laser flatness testing - Surface-finish measurement - Ultrasonic inspection - Dye penetrant inspection - SAP or another manufacturing/ERP system - Machining or precision manufacturing An **ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)** certification is a plus. If you don’t already have it, you should be willing to obtain it. You should also be willing to obtain **ultrasonic and dye penetrant inspection certifications** if required for your work. **What Success Looks Like** Successful Quality Inspectors: - Put safety and quality first - Complete inspections accurately and consistently - Catch problems before products move further through production - Understand specifications and apply them correctly - Use inspection equipment properly - Maintain clear and accurate inspection records - Communicate quickly when something doesn’t meet requirements - Complete inspections without creating unnecessary production delays - Work effectively with manufacturing teams to resolve quality questions - Continue developing their technical and inspection skills - Take ownership of the quality of the products they inspect **Quality and Production Work Together** Being a Quality Inspector isn’t just about finding something wrong.
