## Description

**Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing** is seeking a skilled and dependable **Punch Press Operator** to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty mechanical and hydraulic power presses to produce high-quality, precision metal stampings and components.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

## Position Responsibilities

- Safely and efficiently operate mechanical and hydraulic punch presses.
- Monitor machine performance and make real-time adjustments as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production specifications.
- Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and correct defects or production deviations.
- Maintain accurate production records and required documentation.
- Perform routine machine cleaning, maintenance, and housekeeping.
- Report equipment malfunctions or mechanical concerns to Maintenance.
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and established production practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

## Qualifications & Skills

- Previous punch press or metal stamping experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Previous forklift experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical manufacturing tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.

## Schedule

**Regular Hours:** Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM  
**Summer Hours:** Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM

## Compensation

**$17.00-$20.00 per hour**

*Starting wage will be based on the selected candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.*
