There is an opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested. Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services. In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit. **How will you make a difference at LBHH?** Behavioral Health Associates (BHAs) at Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital deliver quality care to patients with varying psychiatric, behavioral and mental health diagnoses, ensuring their safety and continued care. **Behavioral Health Associate (BHA) are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:** - Assists the Registered Nurse with admissions by obtaining vital signs and securing belongings. Screens visitors and incoming calls, answers questions and prioritizes or redirects calls as appropriate. - Assists the Registered Nurse with the discharge process, returning belongings, and escorting individuals out of the hospital. - Facilitates activity, education and leisure groups. Documents the purpose and outcome of the group for each member. - Provides escorts for patients to the cafeteria, to the outside courtyards, or to other areas/departments in the hospital. - Maintains current observation check sheets for all patients on their assigned unit. Conducts safety rounds each shift on the units including groups rooms, laundry rooms, and patient rooms.
