## Description

**Full-time/Non-Exempt | 40 hrs./week | Starting at $ $29.34/hr | Flex schedule aligned with store operations; nights and weekends required**

**Job Summary**

The Maintenance Technician works under the direction of the Facilities Manager to support the day-to-day maintenance, repair, preventive upkeep, and safe operation of all Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) facilities, grounds, equipment, and systems throughout Dane County. This role is responsible for keeping facilities safe, compliant, clean, and fully operational while supporting a professional, service-oriented environment for staff, donors, customers, volunteers, and clients in alignment with SVdP’s mission.

**What You’ll Do** 

- Perform routine, corrective, and emergency maintenance and repairs across SVdP facilities, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, flooring, roofing, and mechanical systems.
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment; diagnose issues; and perform preventive maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Manage maintenance requests and work orders using maintenance tracking software, ensuring timely completion and accurate documentation.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA standards, building and fire codes, and organizational safety policies while keeping work areas clean and safe.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; assist with purchasing, expense tracking, and budget management.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal departments to support facility repairs, maintenance projects, and equipment installations.
- Communicate maintenance concerns to management, assist with staff training, and participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergencies.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and service-oriented work environment while adhering to SVdP's Safeguarding Policy and organizational procedures.

**What You Can Bring**

- Strong knowledge of general facility maintenance, building systems, equipment, and electrical, mechanical, and basic plumbing principles.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety regulations; OSHA 10 Certification or willingness to complete required training.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office/365 and CMMS or maintenance tracking systems.
- Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with staff, management, contractors, and customers.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to meet organizational insurability requirements and travel between SVdP locations.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check and comply with ongoing safety-sensitive drug testing requirements.
- Willingness and ability to participate in an on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends as required.

- Ability to frequently stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands to handle or touch tools, equipment, products, or controls.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
