Come help us fulfill our purpose: **to create a better life for our families, communities, and those connected to the land.** ## What You'll Be Doing A **LubeTech / Diesel Mechanic** is a critical member of the service team, responsible for maintenace and repairing, and a range of equipment, from small engines to agricultural machinery. This role requires strong mechanical skills, professionalism, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Most work takes place in the shop, though occasional field support may be required. The technician ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards, helping deliver reliable equipment performance and outstanding customer satisfaction. ## Responsibilities - Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards of quality. - Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues. - Make necessary repairs accurately and effectively. - Engage with customers as needed to explain repairs, provide updates, and answer questions. - Complete work assignments in the shop and in the field environment. - Follow direction and guidance from the Service Manager or Shop Foreman as required. - Maintain a clean and organized workspace and proper care of tools and equipment. ## Qualifications **What's Required** **Skills/Experience** - 2–3 years of experience as a mechanic working on small engines, diesel and gas engines, and small hand-held components. - Proven ability to assemble, perform maintenance, and execute basic diagnostics on equipment. - Must own and maintain a complete set of professional tools. - Basic computer skills for diagnostic and documentation purposes. - Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes. - Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate documentation. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Ability to work flexible schedules and respond to after-hours calls as needed. - Professional, customer-focused demeanor with strong service skills. **Preferred** - Experience working on John Deere equipment. - Technical training or certifications in diesel mechanics, agricultural equipment, or related fields. *Compensation is competitive and based on skill level, proven experience, and knowledge.* **Education** - High School Diploma or equivalent - Technical training or certifications in diesel mechanics, agricultural equipment, or related fields preferred **Physical Requirements** - Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work in confined spaces while performing repairs, maintenance, and equipment handling. - Requires use of hands and fingers to handle tools, operate machinery, perform detailed mechanical work, and exercise manual dexterity. - Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and parts up to 50–75 lbs., and occasionally heavier with assistance. - Requires close vision, depth perception, and the ability to read schematics, manuals, and computer screens; hearing ability sufficient to communicate with coworkers and customers in person and over the phone. - Must be able to work in various environments, including shop, outdoor conditions, confined spaces, and elevated areas. - Must be able to safely operate company vehicles, forklifts, and other equipment. - Ability to travel to company locations, customer sites, or job sites as required. *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.* ## What’s In It for You **At Stotz Equipment, we invest in our people and reward their contributions with a competitive and supportive compensation package, including:** - Profit Sharing Bonus Program - 401(K) with 4% Company Match - Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance - Paid Time Off, Sick Time & Company Holidays - Tuition Reimbursement & Apprenticeship Sponsorship - Technician Incentive Program - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Boot Voucher & Technician Tool Account - Company Vehicle (for qualifying roles) - Training through John Deere University - Eligible to join the John Deere Credit Union - Advancement Opportunities **Successful applicants will be required to complete a background check, including criminal history and a drug screening, prior to the start of employment.
