QXO is looking for a **Lead Accountant** to join our LBM Division Accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records through preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis, and month-end close activities. This role supports compliance with accounting standards and timely financial reporting. The position also will play a critical role as an intermediary between the corporate office and the LBM division as well as partnering with our operational accounting teams.

What you'll do:  

- Perform the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process ensuring it’s completed accurately, including the review of all Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements for all corporate entities.
- Preparation of complex journal entries including expense allocations, accruals, payroll, prepaid amortizations, intercompany entries, etc.
- Reconciliation and tracking of complex prepaid expenses, accrued expenses and allocations.
- Communicate effectively with various functional areas to ensure accurate accounting for health benefits, business insurance and expense allocations.
- Perform the division A/P function ensuring all invoices are processed, approved and paid timely as well as ensuring proper coding of expenses.
- Develop, drive, and improve internal policies & procedures to ensure compliance and the highest integrity of the Company’s results.
- Work cross-functionally with other functional areas and teams to increase financial reporting accuracy.
- Ad hoc projects as required

What you'll bring:  

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience; experience in multi-entity environments strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting theory/GAAP and ability to perform research as necessary.
- Must be detail oriented, have strong analytical skills and be technically minded.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Strong research and reconciliation skills required
- Relevant industry experience considered a plus: Manufacturing/Distribution/Construction
- Team player
- Self-motivated
- Strong ability to problem solve

- Work requires professional written and verbal communication as well as great interpersonal skills.
- Customer focused (i.e., generating accurate and timely results and effectively and timely communicating to customers, colleagues, and management)
