This role will be responsible for facilitation and leadership to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve process and packaging equipment, to maximize production and maintain Waiakea’s high standards in safety and quality. This role will also be engaged in improving maintenance procedures and manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture. **Schedule & Hours:** - **Current Schedule (Upon Hire):** Monday – Friday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM, plus one Saturday overtime shift per month. - **Upcoming Schedule (Effective November 1, 2026):** We are transitioning to a 24/7 operation! You will move to a 12-hour Pitman rotating schedule (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM). * You will enjoy 3 to 4 days off every single week and have every other full weekend off. * You will work a 2-2-3 rotation, meaning your hours will alternate between 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next (with built-in overtime). * Overnight shift gets an extra 5% shift differential added to their hourly wages **Benefits:** - Waiakea Hawaiian Volcanic Water offers competitive pay that is direct-deposited weekly - Annual sick, personal and vacation leave - Paid volunteer hours through the Waiakea award winning Kokua Initiative program - Employee + Dependent(s) HMSA health/vision/prescription/dental insurance - FSA & Dependent Care FSA with $500 employer contribution - Discounted gym memberships - Discounted company water - $300 monthly child care reimbursement - 401k with up to a 5% employer match & more! **Essential Job Functions:** - Oversee a small team of Maintenance Technicians - Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems on equipment. - Demonstrate troubleshooting capabilities on control systems, servo drives, motors, HMIs, and PLCs on complex high-speed packaging lines. - Perform various equipment preventive maintenance tasks as necessary, but routinely in cases requiring advanced technical expertise - Review documentation for maintenance activity using the maintenance database, adequately communicate maintenance issues to appropriate employees (e.g., other maintenance techs, operators, engineers, supervisors, etc.), and properly utilize the maintenance inventory system. - Repair and maintain items necessary to maintain equipment in optimum operating condition - Lead process improvement initiatives in assigned areas by analyzing equipment maintenance history, identifying significant causes of waste, coordinating with appropriate employees to develop root cause analysis (RCA), and providing maintenance assistance as necessary. - Assist in the day-to-day support of operators for adjustments, setups, and changeovers - Assist other maintenance technicians as required - Work with engineers and vendors on special projects - Use machine tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices to modify machinery as needed - Will assist in training and coaching others on best practices - Assist with training of maintenance technicians - Assist with scheduling - Help conduct interviews for new maintenance technicians - Monthly assessments of maintenance technicians - Ability to read, understand, & follow complex instructions, prints, & schematics - Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment - Ability to positively cooperate & communicate with coworkers, contractors, & management in a team environment - Able to work on ladders & lifts (as applicable & recommended) up to heights of 40 feet - Ability to wear OSHA-approved personal protective equipment (PPE) - Complies with all standard safety practices, safety rules, good manufacturing practices and all other company rules and requirements. **Other Skills/Abilities:** - Ability to comprehend basic verbal and written instructions - Ability to distinguish and identify different products by reading labels **Education and Experience:** - High school diploma/ GED required or equivalent years of experience in an automated or semi-automated packing environment preferred - Minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance required, 5+ years preferred - Minimum of 3 years experience of supervisor-level (or higher) experience required - 3 years’ experience maintaining, troubleshooting, & repairing mechanical & electrical/controls/PLC modules and components - Experience with variable speed & servo drive programming & function (prefer Allen-Bradley) preferred - Experience with robotic control systems (prefer Allen Bradley or Fanuc) preferred **Core Values:** The ideal candidate will align with our company core values: - It’s a Kakou Thing- Work with team members to find solutions. - Live Aloha- Be positive, love unconditionally. - Kulia i ka nu?u- Constant improvement; Strive to reach the summit. - Be Pono- To have integrity and find harmony within yourself, the Aina, your community and work. - Ho'okuleana- An action or mindset “to take responsibility.” It is our individual and collective responsibility to: participate rather than ignore, prevent rather than react and preserve rather than degrade. **Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:**Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.Waiakea cares about the health and safety of our team members.
