As we grow and launch new programs, we need a hands-on HR professional who loves working with people, enjoys making things happen, and wants their work to make a real difference. As a key member of Agate's Human Resources team, you'll help us find great talent, welcome new employees, and build the teams that make our mission possible. **Your work will directly support our ability to serve thousands of adults and children in our community.** ## What You'll Do Recruitment and onboarding will make up approximately 60–70% of your role. You'll: - **Find great people:** Manage full-cycle recruitment, coordinate interviews, partner with hiring managers, and help bring talented people to Agate. - **Create a great first impression:** Make onboarding welcoming, organized, and engaging for every new employee. - **Help us grow:** Support staffing needs for new and expanding programs that provide vital community services. - **Make things better:** Improve recruitment and onboarding processes and bring fresh ideas to the team. - **Expand your HR expertise:** Gradually take on additional responsibilities in performance management, workers' compensation, leave administration, compliance, employee relations, and other HR functions. **Generous PTO:** Start with **20 days of PTO per year**, for full time employees and increases with tenure, plus floating holidays. New employees receive **24 hours of PTO at the start of employment** and begin accruing additional PTO once they hit 24 hours of accrual. Part-time employees receive prorated PTO and on-call employees earn sick and safe time. **Paid Holidays:** Agate provides paid holidays, including **New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day**, plus additional floating holidays. Full-time employees receive up to **88 hours of holiday pay annually**, prorated for part-time employees and employees who start during the year. Most agency operations are closed on fixed holidays, while 24/7 programs such as emergency shelters remain operational. Shelter employees receive holiday pay but may be required to work. Agate offers health insurance through Medica, with traditional and high-deductible plans available across three popular networks, including M Health Fairview and HealthPartners, among others. Agate pays 100% of dental and life insurance premiums and contributes 1.5% of each employee's salary to their retirement account, even if the employee does not contribute. ## What You'll Do: Start Strong, Then Grow Your Impact Your first three months will focus on **recruitment and onboarding**, helping Agate attract great people and welcome them to a team making a real difference in our community. Starting in January, your role will expand into a broader HR Generalist position, giving you the opportunity to build new skills, take ownership of diverse responsibilities, and become an even more integral part of the Agate team. ### Recruitment, Onboarding & Employee Experience - Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, application reviews, candidate screenings, interview scheduling, and hiring documentation. - Prepare offer letters, develop onboarding materials, and facilitate new hire orientation. - Develop training curriculum and teach classes in partnership with subject matter experts. - Represent Agate at job fairs and recruitment events. - Help create a welcoming, engaging employee experience from the first interview through onboarding. ### HR Operations & Employee Support - Maintain accurate, confidential employee records, personnel files, and HRIS data. - Process employee changes, including hires, promotions, transfers, leaves, and separations. - Respond to employee questions and prepare employment verifications and HR correspondence. - Conduct periodic records audits and support HR systems, reporting, and special projects. ### Benefits, Leave & Payroll Support - Assist employees with benefit enrollment, benefit questions, and leave requests. - Coordinate leave administration and maintain required documentation. - Process employment changes and supporting documentation for payroll and benefits systems. ### Employee Relations & Labor Support - Support employee engagement, retention, and initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive workplace. - Partner with HR leadership to support positive labor-management relationships and administer collective bargaining agreements. ### Workers' Compensation, Safety & Compliance - Coordinate workers' compensation documentation, claims follow-up, and communication with employees, supervisors, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators. - Lead safety committee meetings, develop agendas, and help implement workplace safety initiatives. - Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements, including I-9 documentation. - Prepare reports and records for audits, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders. - Help communicate and implement HR policies and procedures. ### Be Part of What's Next -
