You will report to a Food Service Director. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility. Our ideal Food Service Worker excels at the following: - Passionate about food and service - Have a understanding of food handling regulations - Desire to always learn more - Work as a team member - Adapt to changes quickly - Flexible **Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities** - Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions promptly. - The duties of the Food Service Worker include, but are not limited to, cleaning as you go and maintaining a neat and food safe workstation, which you will clean and maintain. These responsibilities also include pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping. - Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures. - Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. - Abide by all food safety regulations about sanitation, food handling and storage. - Perform routine kitchen tasks, while being organized and clean. - You will have physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time. - Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift. - Other responsibilities as determined by our needs. What You'll Need - Required: * We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 21 years of age. - Preferred: * We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
