## Description

We are seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Food Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of a school food service program. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment, and be committed to providing nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming setting.

**Schedule and Benefits**

- Monday through Friday, day shift
- No weekends or holidays
- Summers off

ServSafe® Certification is a plus. Candidates must be able to obtain the required documentation and clearances to work in a school setting.

## Key Responsibilities:

**Daily Operations**

- Oversee and manage daily school food service operations.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served efficiently and according to established standards.
- Support and supervise food service staff to maintain smooth daily operations.

**Food Preparation and Production**

- Prepare and cook a variety of foods according to recipes and established procedures.
- Ensure proper portion control and meet production standards in accordance with National School Lunch Program (NSLP) guidelines.
- Help ensure meals meet applicable food service and nutrition requirements.

**Ordering and Inventory**

- Place food and supply orders as needed.
- Monitor inventory, maintain appropriate stock levels, and minimize waste.
- Assist with menu promotions and other food service marketing initiatives.

**Point-of-Sale (POS) and Cash Handling**

- Support staff with cash collection and register operations.
- Ensure accurate transactions and compliance with recordkeeping procedures.

**Food Safety and Cleanliness**

- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and serving area.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation procedures are consistently followed.
- Ensure required personal protective equipment (PPE) is used appropriately and safety procedures are maintained.

**Staffing and Team Leadership**

- Assist with recruiting and securing food service workers and substitute staff.
- Provide direction and support to team members.
- Promote a positive, cooperative, and professional work environment.

## Qualifications:

- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety practices.
- Basic inventory management, ordering, and cash-handling skills.
- ServSafe® Certification preferred.
- Ability to obtain required documentation and clearances to work in a school setting.
