As a key strategic partner to senior Security leaders, the Amazon Security Finance team plays a vital role in building a robust security culture. You'll be a valuable member who uncovers critical trends, refines forecasting accuracy, and generates actionable insights to empower strategic decision-making. You'll also be a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating complex financial data into a compelling business narrative that drives informed security investments. Key job responsibilities - Collaborate with the Amazon Foundational Security Services (AFSS) team on business strategy, fostering growth and development - Lead planning processes, providing financial expertise and driving impactful decisions - Own third party (3P) software spending reporting across Amazon Security. - Deliver regular weekly & monthly reporting that influences security investments and strategic direction - Develop and maintain scalable financial models that empower informed planning, accurate controllership, and clear visibility into key business drivers. - Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support leaders in tackling business challenges and understanding the financial ramifications of decisions. - Demonstrate the agility and resilience to excel in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, consistently delivering impactful results. About the team Amazon Security Finance is a relatively new finance team supporting the consolidated security functions across Amazon. We have a unique opportunity to see across all segments, build our own finance team and processes, and work with amazing business partners whose #1 priority is securing Amazon customers, partners, services, and employees. ## Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience - Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience ## Preferred Qualifications - 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience - 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience - MBA, or CPA - Knowledge of SQL/ETL - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
