Powered by [UC Irvine](https://uci.edu), UCI Health serves 5.6 million people across Orange County, western Riverside County and southeast Los Angeles County through excellence in patient care, research and medical education. **Your Role on the Team** **Position Summary:** Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, the Quality Review/EPIC Training Coordinator serves as a resource to staff in handling and troubleshooting difficult accounts, monitoring workflow, monitoring productivity and identifying underlying AR issues. Makes recommendations for resolving issues in all areas of billing/collections for Physicians Billing Financial Services and serves as a department-wide training resource. Required to have successfully completed the EPIC Certification Training program. Incumbent is responsible for ensuring that quality standards are set and maintained throughout the various units. Develops and implements training programs for all staff performing billing, follow-up and denial activities based on the department's needs and usage. **What It Takes to be Successful** **Required Qualifications:** - Strong leadership and interpersonal skills - Proficient in Commercial, Medicare and Medi-Cal billing and claims processing with sound knowledge of respective rules, regulations and compliance guidelines - Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties - Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job - Minimum 3 years’ experience in medical billing and/or clinical customer service and handling patient account issues - Knowledge of basic software programs, such as Excel, Word and Access - Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 coding, authorization requirements and related documentation - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - EPIC Certification in Resolute Professional Billing Principal Trainer - Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System - Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems - Ability and experience with database development, spreadsheets, to implement effective and efficient internal programs and processes. - 3 years’ experience in an acute Professional based billing and collections department **Preferred Qualifications:** - Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms - 2 years’ experience as a lead and/or project management **Total Rewards** We offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding.
