This role collaborates closely with technical and operational leaders to identify opportunities, expand client relationships, and align business development efforts with organizational goals. The Business Development Manager serves as a key contributor to growth initiatives while mentoring junior business development staff and promoting ECS Core Values. **Responsibilities** - Identifies and researches leads for new work and proposal leads, lunch and learns, and other business development tasks - Assists junior staff with resolution of issues - Uses ECS systems in the coordination of business development tasks - Coordinates internal communications with staff members on a variety of business development tasks - Mentors junior staff and supports the overall development of the team - Assists with the coordination of business development meetings and connects clients to staff - Develops business development strategic plans and budgets - Identifies, tracks, and coordinates conference, industry, and award opportunities - Consults with your supervisor to help prioritize tasks weekly - Supplies content and coordinates for email, social media, marketing campaigns, website, and industry conferences - Performs market research to understand the markets and industries we serve - Maintains and updates databases, generates leads, and follows up with clients - Additional responsibilities may include managing and/or mentoring business development team members - Attends and participates in professional associations and networking groups - Assists with coaching engineering staff on successful client interaction and business development strategies Qualifications **Required Qualifications** - 4 years of related experience with a degree or 8 years of related experience without a degree - BS in Business Administration, Marketing, or similar, preferred - If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required - Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Ability to multitask and meet deadlines - Excellent oral & written communication skills - Dependable, self-motivated, responsible and detail-oriented - Ability to work effectively in teams, with clients, peers and subordinates, as well as independently - Excellent interpersonal skills - Strong understanding of general business development processes including research, planning, promotion and evaluation - Strong leadership and decision-making skills - Strong level of understanding of prioritizing and urgency of work in the consulting industry - Ability to understand priorities and urgency of work **Military Qualifications** - The following US Military ranks will qualify for this position IF they also meet the education, certification, and licenses requirements from the above section titled "Required Qualifications": * E-5 About Us ECS Group of Companies (ECS) was founded in 1988 with the goal to raise the standards of professional engineering consulting.
