Discover a career in banking at Fifth Third Bank. **ABOUT THE ROLE:** The Associate Payments Strategist works closely with Treasury Management Officers and Commercial Bankers to grow, retain and expand a portfolio of commercial and business banking clients. This relationship-focused professional supports day-to-day client engagement, sales activities, and solution execution, helping to accelerate revenue growth and ensure a high-quality client experience. The Associate Payments Strategist participates in client and prospect meetings, conducts portfolio analysis, identifies treasury management opportunities and develops tailored recommendations to optimize cash flow, improve operational efficiency, and mitigate risk. By collaborating with treasury management officers, Commercial Payments leadership, Relationship Managers, and internal partners, employees in this role will gain expertise in treasury management solutions, consultative sales practices, and relationship management. This position is designed to enhance client coverage, improve responsiveness, and build deep knowledge in payments and treasury management while supporting a broad book of business. Please see below for specific responsibilities and requirements for this role. **YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:** The responsibilities for this role are below; responsibilities may vary based on client needs, business priorities, and the associate’s experience level. - Partner with Treasury Management Officers, Commercial Bankers, Relationship Managers, and internal stakeholders to support client coverage, joint calling efforts, and relationship strategies. - Serve as a day-to-day client contact for assigned relationships, building trusted relationships, maintaining engagement, and ensuring responsive follow-up. - Participate in client and prospect meetings to understand business objectives, cash flow processes, operational challenges, and opportunities to deepen relationships. - Identify, structure, and support treasury management solutions across payments, receivables, fraud prevention, liquidity, commercial card, and digital channels. - Prepare treasury reviews, pricing analyses, proposals, presentations, RFP responses, and other materials that support client recommendations and sales activities. - Conduct portfolio reviews and monitor client activity to uncover revenue growth, retention, expansion, optimization, and risk-related opportunities. - Support pipeline development, opportunity tracking, CRM accuracy, deal documentation and progression of sales opportunities toward close. - Coordinate onboarding, implementation, service, product, and follow-up activities to help deliver a seamless client experience. - Ensure adherence to applicable risk, compliance, documentation, and bank standards; proactively elevate issues and help drive timely resolution. - Develop and maintain strong knowledge of treasury management products, sales processes, industry trends, client industries, and financial workflows. - Assist in achieving team sales, retention, revenue growth, and client satisfaction objectives. - ***Other Duties:*** *Performing other duties as assigned, adapting to new tasks or shifts in priorities as necessary to support your team’s and the company’s mission.* **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:** - 2+ years of experience in Treasury Management, Commercial Banking or Payments - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience - Demonstrated ability to support sales efforts and manage client relationships - Working knowledge of treasury management products and solutions - Strong communication, organization and client-facing skills **PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:** - Strong ability to quickly diagnose client needs and deliver tailored solutions - Exceptional communication and executive presence - History of strong collaboration with internal stakeholders, with a keen ability to quickly build rapport both internally and externally - Basic understanding of commercial banking payments solutions Please refer to the “Skills for Success” section to learn how to stand out as an applicant. **SKILLS FOR SUCCESS:** - **Client-Centric Mindset** – Focuses on delivering a seamless, high-quality client experience - **Collaboration & Partnership** – Works effectively alongside with internal teams - **Execution & Follow-Through** – Manages details and ensures timely completion of tasks - **Consultative Thinking** – Identifies client needs and aligns solutions appropriately - **Adaptability** – Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a large, dynamic portfolio **DOING THE RIGHT THING:** Our employees take pride in doing the right thing for customers and colleagues as well as being accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and following policies and procedures that protect all our valuable assets —including you**​**.
